Space Day – Reach for the Stars
In 2014, the Deputy Mayoress Dr. Martina Schröck commissioned the Children’s Museum to develop and carry out the first Graz Space Day.
Scientists from institutes, universities and companies in Graz have for many years contributed international excellence in the field of space technology and space research. With the space event “Reach for the Stars”, these magnificent contributions are presented and brought into the public domain.
The “infinite expanses of outer space” have been brought direct to the Joanneum quarter for all the citizens of Graz!
Visitors can chat with scientists, perform experiments, test weightlessness and gravity, build rockets, visit a planetarium and much more.
The Graz Space Day was held for a second time in 2015. Once again, many school classes came in the morning and the public in the afternoon. On that day, 2,000 people were immersed in space and enjoyed science shows, panel discussions and a Science Slam.
In 2016, Space Day took place on 5th October in the Joanneum quarter.
