Between 9 and 12. November 2021, the Graz Children’s Museum FRida & freD and the Zoom Children’s Museum in Vienna were the hosts of the international “Hands On! Children in Museums Conference”. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the conference had to take place online on the platform “b2match” which was set up for this purpose. Nevertheless, this 13th international Hands On! conference offered the possibility for members of Hands On! International and interested parties from all areas of diverse child-focused museum work to exchange ideas with one another, both in the usual way and via new means. The 4-day conference programme incorporated numerous interactive workshops, parallel sessions, keynotes, and a supporting programme organised by children and young people from the “TaO” theatre group. The event concluded with the presentation of the “Children in Museums Award”. The conference was attended by 175 participants from 27 countries worldwide.
