FLiP – First Financial Life Park at CoSA Graz

Understanding money and more interactively | Financial education for life

FLiP at CoSA is a project run by Steiermärkische Sparkasse, a social franchise partner of FLiP, a non-profit initiative promoting financial education.

Prior to implementation, Steiermärkische Sparkasse commissioned KIMUS Kindermuseum Graz GmbH to analyse the implementation potential, clarify and review the framework conditions, and develop scenarios for a FLiP in Graz.

Based on the results of this analysis, KIMUS Kindermuseum Graz GmbH took over the project development, curatorial concept and project implementation for FLiP at CoSA.

At FLiP at CoSA Graz, young people aged 12 and above and adults can experience how exciting and realistic financial education can be. Admission is free, access is barrier-free and bilingual (German/English).

Five thematic areas – one goal:
Interactive stations playfully convey key aspects of money, values, consumption, budget planning, financial fitness and global interrelationships. Visitors explore FLiP individually or in groups. School classes are accompanied by the CoSA team.

Highlights of FLiP at CoSA:

  • FLiP Value: What is money – and what is truly valuable?
  • FLiP Fitness: Financial endurance and dealing with loans.
  • FLiP Budget: Balancing income and expenditure.
  • FLiP Invest: Investing, providing for the future, understanding opportunities and risks.
  • FLiP Global: How our consumption has a global impact.

A personal FLiP card accompanies all visitors through the exhibition, collects points in knowledge checks and central games, and provides an individual evaluation at the end.

Accompanying offers:

  • Impulse stations for open discussion about money and values.
  • A FLiP lexicon explains financial terms in a simple and understandable way.
  • Teaching materials for preparation and follow-up are available online.
  • The FLiP app for students from the 8th grade onwards as a digital supplement.

Exhibition design:
